Under pressure from Aso Rock, south-east governors proscribe IPOB
South-east governors rose from an emergency meeting in Enugu on Friday and announced a ban on all the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in their geo-political zone.
The defence headquarters had declared IPOB “a militant terror group” earlier on Friday.
TheCable understands that the governors were acting on a presidential directive as a pre-condition to reduce military presence in the region.
There were hot arguments at the meeting over the appropriateness of the governors succumbing to a directive from Abuja, insiders informed TheCable.
The governors had been accused of tacitly supporting IPOB.
The launch of Operation Python Dance II has raised tension in the south-east, leading to reported deaths in Aba, Abia state, and disruption to economic activities.
In the communique, shared with TheCable, the governors asked the leadership of IPOB and all other aggrieved groups to make their positions on all national issues and submit to the committee of governors, Ohaneze Ndigbo, and the members of the national assembly from the zone through the chairman of the south-east governors forum.
Legal experts told TheCable that the proscription may just be an academic exercise.
“IPOB is not a registered organisation, has no legal basis for existence and cannot be logically proscribed. You can only proscribe what operates legally,” a senior advocate of Nigeria told TheCable.

Zimbabwean Man's Testicle Explodes, Dies After Sex Session With Married Woman
A BULAWAYO woman claims her brother died because he slept with a fenced woman.
Patience Ndlovu told B-Metro that her brother Ndodana’s testicles swelled up like a balloon before they exploded and he died in the process.
“I used to hear that men fence their women but I did not believe that it was actually possible.
My brother died complaining that he was experiencing pain on his privates and he briefly highlighted that he might have slept with a fenced woman but he did not know who exactly as he had many sexual partners. When they exploded that was the end of him,” said Patience.
However, there is one man who is said to have been calling Ndodana telling him to stay away from his wife (name supplied) as there would be fatal consequences if he continued with the affair.
According to a neighbour to the late, Ndodana had been in a relationship with the named woman and some people in the area suggested that he had fathered her two children.
It is reported that despite all these warnings Ncube continued to enjoy the forbidden fruit that was not his.
In her defence the woman said neighbours wanted to destroy her marriage because they were jealous of her beautiful home.
“Who told you this? My children are now being dragged into this issue, it’s very sad that my neighbours want to see my children fatherless. I did not have an affair with him. He was a family friend,“ she said.

"Meet With Nnamdi Kanu" - Obasanjo Tells Buhari
Obasanjo said this during an interview with Newsweek Magazine.
Ironically, Kanu, had in the past called Obasanjo an “evil man”.
The former President said, “I don’t see anything wrong in that (Buhari meeting with Kanu). I would not object to that; if anything, I would encourage it.
“I would want to meet Kanu myself and talk to people like him, people of his age, (and ask) ‘What are your worries?’ Not only from the South-East but from all parts of Nigeria.”
Obasanjo, who led the final offensive that brought the civil war to an end in 1970, said he had seen too many wars and it was time for Nigeria to move on.
He said he believed that enough dialogue had not been done by both the government and several groups.
The former President, however, said secession was not the answer.
“Those who fought in the war in Biafra will not want to fight any other war. I fought in that war and it was an unfortunate war and I said I have fought one war too many in Nigeria; I don’t want to see another.
“The heavy boot is not the solution. I believe also whatever may be the frustration of any youth in any part of Nigeria; I believe secession is not the solution.”
The former president, who was also military head of state from 1976–1979, said economic development in the country was the only way to solve the various agitations across the country.
Some Igbo leaders have complained that President Buhari, who hails from northern Nigeria, has prioritized the development of other parts of the country to their detriment.
“We need to satisfy the youth in job creation, in wealth creation, in giving them a better, fulfilled life, in giving them hope for the future. There’s no easy way out,” he said.
Steps Involved In Writing A Good Blog Post
One quality of a good blog is a good topic. A blog post is sometimes
what determine the readers durability on your blog or website. Choosing a
topic to write on is the first and foremost step to take. After
deciding which topic to write on, you can then proceed to the following
steps.
Note: Don't use freehost. there are many reason Why You Should Not Use a Free Hosting For Your Blog and topics you chose to write on should be related to your blog's niche.
Here are the steps involved in writing a good topic:
Researching on the topic
The topic chosen by you must be well researched on. This is an essential part of writing a good content.
The impression you are trying to make here is to let your readers see you as an expert, which is why you need research to gather your facts, ideas and examples. Research shouldn't take much time if you know what you are looking for and how to look for it . You can use search engines to research your blog post. Amazon can also be of help, as i heard its one of the best for researching blog post niche.
The title of the topic
The title of your topic must be very short, attractive and related to the subject matter or the content. "keep the title short and on topic" . Some post have a good content but the title is either off topic or too long.
Using this post as an example, i can draft out at least 3 suitable titles;
* Five steps needed when writing a good topic
* How to write a good topic for your blog
* Steps involved in writing a good blog content
The content
Having found the suitable title for your article/post, and after doing enough research, the next step is to write on your subject matter based on what you have researched. This is where the real work comes in. The subject matter (content) should be well explanatory, so your readers can understand easily.
The content should also contain images, videos or other ways of visual representation (if necessary) for better understanding.
You can also include relevant or related links at the middle of the content.
Remember! that you are not the first and won't be the last that will write on that topic, which is why you have to make your content unique (different from what others have written).
TIP: Content sometimes determine the durability of readers on your blog
Visual representation
The use of images, videos etc helps readers a lot. Some explanation are better done visually. When writing your content, don't forget to include necessary images/screenshots related to the information you are trying to pass across to the readers. The use of visual representation make readers quickly assimilate and recollect because some readers in our century can hardly memorize two or three lines of written text but can summarize a season film without watching it twice.
TIP: You can also make tutorial videos(if necessary)
Proof Reading
After you're done writing your content, you should proof read it as many times as possible to correct mistakes that might have occurred.
If you are not that good at proof reading, you can hire a proof reader or you can pass it to two or three friends of yours to proof read it for you.

Kwame Bonsu Jailed For Raping And Assaulting His Wife
The Gävle District Court also disclosed that 22-year-old Kwame Bonsu, who plays for Gefle IF club, will be expelled from the Scandinavian country where he has lived since 2013.
His club Gefle on Friday also said Bonsu was dismissed from the team with immediate effect. According to court documents seen by The Local he will also have to pay 122,600 kronor ($14,000) in compensation to his wife, who is a Swedish national. He first met her in 2014 when he was playing in the southern Swedish city of Mjölby.
They married the following year. A few months after the wedding he signed a transfer to the town of Gävle, located about 300 kilometres away from Mjölby. Bonsu's wife had wanted him to stay to continue his studies.
The victim said the rape and beatings took place in the couple's apartment during an evening in November 2015 when he had refused to let her out. Bonsu repeatedly denied the charges, but testimony from his wife's relatives led the court to believe the victim's version of events. His lawyer has appealed the sentence.
Entrepreneurs: Tips On How To Deliver A Pitch Investors Can't Turn Down
Many of you asked me this week to say a bit more about “pitching,” including what the word really means. For an entrepreneur, a “pitch” is what you say and present to potential investors to market yourself, your idea and your business concept — not just to inspire them to invest, but to rush to be first in the queue!
Today though, in response to your requests, let me share the first of three parts of an excellent article from Entrepreneur magazine, written by Neil Patel, a young entrepreneur who gave me permission to republish it (remember the importance of intellectual property). It’s called: “13 Tips on How to Deliver a Pitch Investors Simply Can’t Turn Down.” Today I’ll share #1 thru #4.
It’s going to be decided by the PREPARATIONS you make in the months and weeks leading up to that pitch.
In his article, Neil writes:
“Your pitch is the single thing that could either get your business off the ground or plunge your idea into eternal oblivion. It matters.
The rule of thumb for investors is that for every 100 investments they make, only 10 will go big.
Let me take that rule of thumb a step further. For every 1,000 pitches an investor hears, he or she will fund only 100 of them. Statistically, the odds for success are not great. You can beat the statistics, however, by crafting a pitch that turns heads and gets funded.
What are the ingredients of an ultra-compelling, irresistible, outstanding, and unforgettable pitch?
1. Take only ten minutes.
Timing is critical. The less time your pitch takes, the better.
A brilliant idea means nothing unless you can distill it to a few moments of sheer power. The more concise you can be, the more effective you will be. Here are a few timing pointers:
# If you say that you’ll take “only X minutes,” then take at least one minute less.
# If you are told, “You only have X minutes to pitch,” then take at least five minutes less.
# If you say, “One last thing” or something similar, then make sure it’s truly the one last thing.
# Move at a good pace. Don’t rush at the end.
# If you’re using slides, don’t get stuck on one slide for more than three minutes.
Here’s the great thing about taking ten minutes. If the investors are really interested, they’ll ask questions. If they’re not interested, then you will have saved them (and yourself) some time.
2. Turn your pitch into a story.
Storytelling is a scientifically-proven way to capture a listener’s attention and hold it. Besides, it makes your pitch unforgettable.
Investors are bored with spreadsheets, valuations and numbers. If they want that information, they can get it. What you can offer that no term sheet can convey is the story and pathos behind your startup. Everyone loves a good story, even the most data-driven investor.
So, tell your story and tell it right. You’re bound to gain attention, and the funding will follow.
3. Be laser-focused.
Investors’ time is their most valuable asset. If you convey a respect for their time, they will interpret that respect as your ability to treat their funding with respect.
Because time is important, you need to develop an absolute focus on the core components of your pitch. What are those core components? They’re detailed in the following tips.
4. Explain EXACTLY what your product or service is.
Show your potential investors a picture of, or give them the actual product to handle.
Be careful not to drone endlessly on about your product. Honestly, investors don’t really care about your product as much as they care about the money that your product will make. The sooner you get to the good stuff — the money.
